Good catch Steve.. It looks like I created CanSAT as a monthly/repeating calendar event.. Just fixed it.. Thanks for the heads up! The website calendar should sync within a few minutes.
Thanks..
While this is not a "club launch".. our next club launch is on June 23rd.

I won't be able to make this weekend unfortunately. I was wondering if that July 9 launch date on our website is supposed to be listed as a club launch instead of CanSAT or is there nothing going on that weekend?

Tweeks,
I see CanSAT on our calendar for July 9 as well. Is the July 9th date supposed to be a club launch?

Bob and I are overseeing the NASA sponsored CatSAT even this weekend.. There's going to be over 200 students there.. details below.
If anyone is interested.. this is not a public luanch, but will still be a really cool event. We're doing setup Thursday and (mainly) Fri afternoon if anyone wants to join us.. On Saturday we could also use some non-certified student helpers (helping retriev rockets), and maybe 4-5 certified, HP pad managers. Free food and drinks for all helpers..

We also have a Sunday rain date (if Saturday washes out).
Ask Bob if you have any questions..

Virginia Tech is hosting the international CanSat competition. youtube video here [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGsaUHy38qk ]( https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DfGsaUHy38qk&data=05%7C01%7Ct.weeks%40vt.edu%7Cddabd28f049f491ef7ba08da48881ecd%7C6095688410ad40fa863d4f32c1e3a37a%7C0%7C0%7C637902046718184658%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=S%2B3OYErDVbKT7Uao1bcg5PUqkpTDkNXgIUd0woA3zFM%3D&reserved=0 )
This is a payload competition using identical rockets on J impulse motors to boost the cansats to approximately 2500 feet where they must perform a specific task and land safely.
We will need at least 10 people to help load rockets,on the pads, and help retrieve rockets from the field. It is very likely that there is an opportunity to launch one of your personal rockets before the competition begins so we can get an idea of upper level winds and landing area.
We need help and you do not need to be a certified flyer to help us. We will provide lunch and all the water you can drink. There will be about 25 rockets launched from 1 to 6 and we need to have helpers show up at noon on Saturday June 11.
Please pass this on to any friends who are in or near Blacksburg this weekend. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
'Bob
